Whether you live here full-time or are just planning a long weekend away, a special birthday, a unique bachelorette event, why not add on a one-of-a-kind experience that can only happen on the East End?
You’ll learn a new skill, have fun and enjoy the beauty and bounty of the bays while creating great memories to boot. The Janes will provide the equipment as needed, choose locations, and help you craft an unforgettable event tailored to your needs.
Some ideas include:
CLAMMING 101 - small groups learn the basics of clamming and shucking on location. See our Events page for more detail.
CLAMMING 101 + WINE PAIRING - you’ll learn the basics of clamming, how to shuck and we’ll curate wines from a local producer that pairs with clams and our signature sauces.
CLAMITY CATERING - our “Shuck Wagon” can come to your back deck or backyard for a private party. We can cater in some signature bites such as our Stone Cold Clam Dip, Olive Clampenade Crostinis and fresh-shucked Naked Janes (raw clams) with our Shotgun Sauce.
CLAMITY CULINARY / EDUCATION - we can come to your kitchen for an educational afternoon/evening that combines interesting facts about the East End and clamming while teaching how to prep clams and prepare a clam-based dish. (Can be paired with a clamming excursion or as a solo event.)
CLAMMING & HATCHERY TOUR - after learning how to clam, we’ll show you where shellfish come from. We’ll arrange a tour with one of the shellfish hatcheries we work with. You’ll get a rare insider peek at the industry that helping to keep shellfish populations healthy and provides growers with seed (shellfish babies to grow out on their farms) Hatchery tours will be dependent on availabilities, and proceeds from this part of the tour go directly to the hatchery.
JANES ON THE WATER - if you have a boat, we have rakes —will travel! We’ll take you out to a clamming spot and show you the ropes.
