SUPPORTING THE BAYS.

We partner with people and projects that reseed the clam population (resource enhancement) in North Fork waters.

Since 2022, The Clamity Janes have been partnering with CCE Marine and their Back to the Bays Program, assisting in the grow out between 300,000 - 750,000 clams annually to be planted back into the Peconic Bay Estuary system. Find out more about this program here. We also volunteer with their hatchery to assist in collection of wild broodstock for their annual spawning which produces the baby clams they re-seed in the bays. By selecting from various locations around the North Fork, we help ensure a more diverse and resilient clam to be re-seeded.

Whether you live here full time or live to visit on weekends and holidays, there’s plenty of ways you can support the bays. Fortunately, there are many groups actively working to keep the waters clean and biodiverse, preserve vital agriculture and aquaculture, support local small businesses and the hardworking bay men and bay women that keep East End tradition alive.

Please see any of the links below to see how you can donate, volunteer or purchase.

Pictured below, Steph, Tara and Cheryl of the Clamity Janes and our volunteer “Clambassadors” reseeded a portion of the baby clams they helped sponsor. Approximately 170,000 baby clams were broadcast reseeded on a gorgeous afternoon in this DEC-approved location, alongside Back to the Bays/CCE Marine.
